My New Macintosh SE

I recently acquired a Macintosh SE from 1987. This is now the oldest computer in my collection. Well, "collection" that is, I didn't really have many computers that most people would consider worth anything... until now.

Windows 10 is Pretty Dang Nice

Its not often that you can can congratulate Microsoft on their new creation. Finally, there is something worth congratulating. Windows 10 is pretty awesome, and that's a fact.

Note that this review is based around upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I do not know of features that were introduced in Windows 8, I've never really used Windows 8 so I don't know if I reference to a not specifically Windows 10 feature.

Also note that this review is based on the final release version of Windows 10,  and much of the bad press it has been getting is based off of the Insider Preview, which was the development version that was used for many reviews before Windows 10 was officially released.

Finally, note that this is not a comprehensive review. I am actually trying to avoid talking about all the features that everyone is talking about, and focusing on some of smaller details.

The Longest Work in Progress

I've been working lately on a redesign of my earliest robot designs.

When I was first starting out in Sketchup I designed a military robot with enough weapons to supply a small army, and a stance that insured that the first step it took would send it falling to the floor, right onto its over sized head.

Outrageously 80s

Finished a new piece. This time I've composited a bunch of stock photos together. I tried to do something in the style of Farcry3: Blood Dragon, with that whole over the top 80s retro feel.

Overall I am very happy with how this turned out, very close to my original idea.

The Departure

To leave one's home.

All the belongings,

Hand picked,

Like fresh fruit.

Slowly rotting,

Left to decay,

Behind the walls.

Forever lost.

To leave one's friends.

All the people,

Slowly fading,

Like ghosts.

Slowly cooling,

Like hot lava,

Solidifying to obsidian.

Forever Cold.

To leave one's world.

All the memories,

Shining bright,

Like candle flames.

Burning to their ends,

Left dark, blackened, cold,

Eroding in the winds of time.

Forever gone.

To leave one's self.

An empty husk,

Crinkling in the wind.

To create anew,

   In a new home,

                     with new friends,

                                   in a new world...

     Shining bright
